The Flomaton Fire Department recently added another piece of equipment to its ability to provide life-saving efforts with the addition of a battery-powered cutter that will be used to free people trapped inside vehicles following a crash. Last Thursday afternoon, the 17th Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force, working in conjunction with the Conecuh County Sheriff's Office, seized 32 kilos (70 pounds) of suspected cocaine after making a traffic stop on I-65 in Conecuh County. Thanks to an anonymous donation to the Flomaton Cemetery Perpetual Care Trust Fund, workers were on site this week cutting trees and low-hanging limbs and the donation will be enough to allow the road through the cemetery to be repaved.
