    An accident at Golden Cotton Gin in Jay Tuesday claimed the life of an Atmore man. Craig Sullivan, 59, died from injuries he sustained when the 2002 semi-truck he was clearing debris under pulled forward to unload the cargo. According to a Florida Highway Patrol Press Release, after unloading the cargo, the driver, 43-year-old Anthony Mincey from Edison, Ga., received communication to pull forward.     The Century Council approved the transfer of $36,030 to the town's gas operating account at an emergency meeting last Thursday following discussion of a discrepancy of what the town is paying for gas and taking in as gas revenue.     A single-vehicle crash on Old Flomaton Road Tuesday night has claimed the life of a Brewton man. Former W.S. Neal student Jordan Cooper, 37, was killed when the 1999 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving ran off the roadway and collided with a power pole and continued to travel down an embankment, colliding with a tree line that surrounded a large body of water, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.     A single-vehicle crash at 3:12 p.m. last Thursday, Oct. 18, has claimed the life of a Jay Elementary School student and injured three others. Six-year-old Kirstianna Boutwell was killed when the 2015 Chevrolet Equinox she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a tree. She was pronounced dead on the scene.     In a vote of 4 to 1, the Century Council voted at its Oct. 15 meeting approval to purchase two gasoline trucks for the town what will run on both regular gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG). The trucks approved for purchase are a 2018 Ram 3500 for $26,003 and a 2018 Ram 1500 for $22,893, a price that includes delivery and towing package.     Jay's Fiscal Year 2018-19 total budget of $1,196,144 was approved at the Monday, Oct. 1, but this year's total is almost a million dollars less than last year's budget of $2,197,982.
