Brewton police responded to a call about 10:30 p.m. last Thursday after it was reported a bear was crossing Belleville Avenue near the Escambia County Courthouse. Brewton Police Chief Matt Jordan said when officers arrived they located the bear in a tree near the courthouse. The body of 62-year old Ricky Robinson was located Friday morning in the Conecuh River about a quarter of a mile down stream from where he reportedly went under water near McGowin Bridge last Monday.
