    A two-vehicle crash at 12:10 a.m., Saturday, March 23, has claimed the life of an Nederland, Texas man and injured another. Steven Stone Stewart, 47, was killed when the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe he was riding in made contact with an unknown vehicle, left the roadway, and overturned. Stewart was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fl, where he died from his injuries.   • Inmate death ruled a suicide

    The Alabama Department of Corrections (ADOC) is investigating the apparent suicide of a state inmate reported Friday at Fountain Correctional Facility in Atmore. At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Friday, prison officials found 24-year-old Rashaud Dederic Morrissette unresponsive in a housing area. Medical staff performed CPR on Morrissett but were unable to revive him. His death has been ruled a suicide. ADOC is not releasing additional details of the incident pending an ongoing investigation and an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death....

  • Enterprise woman dies in I-65 crash

    A single vehicle crash at 3:15 a.m., on Sunday, Feb. 24, has claimed the life of an Enterprise woman. Lindsey Brooke Jensen, 22, was killed when the 2017 Hyundai Elantra she was riding in left the roadway and struck a bridge piling. Jensen was pronounced dead on the scene.     A Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office deputy who had shot a suspect armed with a cross bow on Oct. 20 will not face charges.     Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded nearly $1.6 million to continue the fight to reduce illegal drug use in the state by arresting those who buy or sell illegal drugs or falsely obtain prescription drugs.
