    A Flomaton man was killed and four others were transported to the hospital in a head-on collision last Wednesday afternoon on Highway 31 about five miles west of Flomaton, near the 51 mile marker. Calvin L. 'Meatball' Johnson, 68, of Flomaton was killed in the Jan. 19 crash about 5:15 p.m. Reports note that Johnson's 2004 Honda SUV veered into the path of a 2003 pickup truck driven by Brian T.     Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey presented Flomaton Mayor Dewey Bondurant, Jr., with a ceremonial $350,000 check that will be used to finance the first phase of a rehabilitation project on the town's sewage lagoon, located on Martin Luther King Drive. Bondurant said the total estimate to make the needed repairs on the lagoon is about $800,000 but feels confident he can get the funds to complete the project.     The deadline to qualify for the May 24 Democrat and Republican primary elections is 5 p.m. Friday and as of Wednesday morning there will be two contested races for the Republican nomination in Escambia County, Ala.
