The town of Flomaton is looking at a price tag of an estimated $214,205 expense to rid Palafox Street from Church Street to Cary Street of utility poles and place those utilities under ground. Flomaton's K-9 Boo was rushed to an emergency veterinarian provider early Friday, Feb. 3, and had to be put down due to complications with cancer. Police Chief Johnny Wilson said K-9 Officer Charles Land rushed Boo to the veterinarian about 5:30 a.m. due to sudden health complications. The Century Town Council tabled a resolution raising the garbage rates for residential customers Monday night to reflect the 4.93 percent Consumer Price Index (CPI) increase allowed in the contract the town has with Republic Services.
