    The Flomaton Town Council voted to begin advertising for a new town clerk after Carrie Moore announced she was resigning the position effective May 1. Moore has agreed to accept a position with the Escambia County (Ala.) Commission.     A ‘controlled burn’ that got out of control late Monday afternoon in Floamaton had firefighters and other volunteers scrambling to protect Little Escambia Baptist Church and other homes and structures after the fire began to spread outside the ‘controlled’ area.     A new sign is posted in front of Flomaton Town Hall announcing that the town's water placed second in the state as the best drinking water which was judged during the annual Alabama Rural Water Conference held last week in Mobile.
