Angela Flowers will become the new town clerk in Flomaton following a unanimous vote Monday afternoon by the Flomaton Town Council. Flowers will replace Carrie Moore, who recently announced her resignation to take a position with the Escambia County (Ala.) Commission. Moore's resignation becomes effective May 1. 9-wheelers using ‘Jake’ breaks inside the town limits of Flomaton will now be subject to a citation after the town council passed an ordinance Monday afternoon banning the use of of those engine compression brakes in the town.
