Flomaton resident Johnny Wayne Griffis, who competed in the Discovery Channel's 'Moonshiners Master Distiller' and the new 'The Country Networks' television series 'Alabama Shine' has been arrested and charged with possession of a still and possession of prohibited beverages. The Flomaton Town Council approved making roof repairs to the old log cabin next to the Alabama Welcome Center and Railroad Museum and also agreed to reopen the welcome center which has been closed since early 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
