Plane crash in East Brewton

Two subjects who were forced to make an emergency landing near East Brewton Tuesday afternoon walked away from the crash that caused minor damage to the airplane they were flying.

Escambia County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the sheriff's office received a call from Air Traffic Control in Pensacola at 1:12 p.m. Tuesday in reference to an airplane that went off the radar, noting the pilot had called for assistance due to engine problems.

Lambert said the location was given as four and a half miles southeast of the Brewton Airport.
