Betty Jean Dannelley Dean, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017 after an extended illness.
Mrs. Dean was born Dec. 8, 1931 to Hardy Lee and Mary Maranda “Mae” Bowman Dannelley in McCullough, Ala. and had been a longtime resident of Lottie, Ala. A faculty advisor for the Scholars Bowl Club and teacher of world history at Baldwin County High School, she held elected offices in Alpha Delta Kappa an honorary sorority of teachers. She was a member of Lottie United Methodist Church, where she has served as Sunday School Teacher and as President of the united methodist Women's Association.
The funeral was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Lottie United Methodist Church with Rev. Judd Goggins officiating. Burial followed at Lottie New Home Cemetery with Johnons-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Dean is survived by four daughters, Gwen Dean (Scott) Myers of Beaufort, S.C., Mary Kate Dean of Fairhope and Carla Dean (Al) Wasdin of Lottie and Glenda Dean of Montgomery.
Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Albert Dean; seven siblings; and numerous other extended family members.
