David Buford, Jr., 80, of Atmore, formerly of Detroit, Mich., died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at Atmore Community Hospital.
Mr. Buford was a native of Hendersonville, Tenn. Born to David, Sr. and Elnora Buford. A 1954 graduate of Union High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., he moved to Detroit where he worked many years as a laborer with Wolverine Tube, Ford, SMART Transportation and Greyhound Bus Lines. He eventually relocated to Atmore to live with his daughter.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at Terrell Broady Funeral Chapel in Nashville with Rev. Nathaniel Jones, III officiating. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens with Terrell Broady Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Buford is survived by the mother of his children, Betty Jo Jones of Atmore; one daughter, LaTangie (Tracy) Commings of Atmore; one sister, Mary Lou (Otto) Horton of Nashville; two grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Buford was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Buford; two sons, Carlos Buford and Eric Buford; and one sister, Mable Buford.
