An Escambia County (Ala.) man listed as a registered sex offender is back in jail on a $25,000 bond after an Escambia County (Ala.) Sheriff's Office investigation initiated Nov. 29, 2017 determined through a routine compliance check that the suspect was not living at his registered address.
Jamey Lavon Mothershed, 38, was convicted Aug. 29, 2001 for lewd and lascivious battery of a victim over 12 years of age but less than 16 years of age in Okaloosa County, Fla., according to an Escambia County Sheriff's Office report. The report said that Mothershed, a registered sex offender in Escambia County, Ala., was not living at the approved location and residence when authorities performed a routine compliance check, which prompted the investigation.
The place of residency was supposed to be Dixie School House Road and the subject had moved to a location in Covington County, Ala. according to the report. A warrant was obtained for the subject's arrest.
Mothershed was arrested and placed in the Escambia County Detention Center on a Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) violation.
