Jewell Hammonds, 76, of Century, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017 at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola.
Mrs. Hammonds was born in Tipton, Ga. and had been a lifelong resident of the Century community. Employed with Vanity Fair for more than 30 years, she was a member of Happy Valley Holiness Church.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 10, at Happy Valley Holiness Church in Century with Bros. Raymond Wiggins and Nathaniel Roach officiating. Burial followed at Happy Valley Holiness Church Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Hammonds is survived by her husband of 60 years, Carl Hammonds of Century; three sons, Larry (Dorie) Hammonds and Michael (Selema) Hammonds, both of Century, and Tim Hammonds of Byrneville, Fla.; one daughter, Penny (Michael) Cooper of Lenox, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous family members and friends.
Mrs. Hammonds was preceded in death by her parents, Joe J. and Mary Alice Keigans Kearce; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
