Louise Newton Fillingim Dockens, 89, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 in Century.
Mrs. Dockens was a native of Byrneville, Fla. and had resided in Christian Home, Fla. Since 1976. Retired from Abernathy Hospital with 15 years of service, she was a member of Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 11, at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Hawkins and Bro. Wayne Long officiating. Burial followed at Christian Home Cemetery with Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Dockens is survived by two sons, John J. (Patsy) Fillingim of Jay and Thomas (Fay) Fillingim, Jr. of McDavid; one daughter, Susan (Leslie) Barnes of Christian Home; two sisters, Duffie Wells and Martha Sims, both of Bluff Springs, Fla. Six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
Mrs. Dockens was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Dockens; her childrens' father, Thomas F. Fillingim, Sr.; one son, Neil C. Fillingim; one daughter, Margaret Gail Fillingim Chavers; one grandchild; and other extended family members.
