So...I'm looking at the weather this past week and all of the sudden I see the potential for snow! Although I have experienced snow many times in my life, anyone who grew up in our area knows how rare it is for us. So I decided to do what any grown man should do and have all my cold weather gear on hand so I could go play once it arrived.
All of the sudden my wife says "it's snowing"! My daughter and I jumped up and looked outside and then began the mad dash to put warm clothes on. It was a close race to see who could be the first one ready (she beat me, but I was the warmest). Outside we went as the joy and laughter began. We watched it fall as the wife took 7 million pictures. Then it started accumulating so the real fun could take place, Snowball fight!
Well the snowball fight lasted for maybe 30 seconds due to the supply (still impressive though since we live in the Deep South). My favorite part was standing with my mouth open wide catching snow. It was great fun that we will all never forget.
What's the point of this you may ask??? My reply to this question is simply to live! We need to truly focus on the wonder of life. When we experience life we need to have fun with it. We may need to dance or stand there with our mouths open wide catching the wonder of it all. It reminds me of the scripture that tells us Jesus came so that we would have life!
Since we now how freedom to enjoy life wouldn't it be insulting to him if we didn't just enjoy it? So let me challenge us all to go back to our childhood wonder and truly allow ourselves to enjoy the blessings that God has provided us. I have to go practice shooting my nerf gun now to get ready for office wars...have a blessed week!
