Pearlie Mae “Granny” Graves Sims, 88, of East Brewton, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sims was a native and life long residnet of Escambia County, Ala. She was a member, pianist and Sunday School teacher at theFirst Open Bible Church and a retired seamstree from Judy Bond with 23 years of service.
The funeral was held at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the First Open Bible Church with Revs. Roy Skidmore and Wayne Butts officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Sims is survived by two sons, Paul Morris Sims and Johnny Lance (Ruth) Sims, both of East Brewton; four daughters, Patricia (Buddy) Lindsey and Diane Jones, both of East Brewton, Rita Faye (Ron) Guss of Loxley, Ala. and Deanna Dawn (Ben) Murphy of Brewton; one sister, Faye Johnson of East Brewton; 22 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Bob Sims; two brothers, J.D. Graves and Charles Gibson; and three sisters, Pauline Smith, Nora Bennie Birch and Sharley Ray Nix.
