Aquilla Alexander Bradford

Aquilla Alexander bradford, 6, of Atmore, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Mr. Bradford was a native of Mobile who grew up in Atmore where he attended Escambia County Training School. A member of Gaines Chapel AME Church, he retired from Monsanto as a draw twist machne operator and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, at Gaines Chapel AME Chuirch with Rev. Amos Smith officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.

Mr. Bradford is survived by his wife, Brunetta Bradford of Atmore; his children, Anita (Marcus) Williams, Jerry (Brenda) Nettles, Walteena brooks, Shawanda Paula Woods, Lashawn Bradford, Latricka Bradford, Alto (Joann) McCants, Terry Dortch, Jeffery (Yolanda) McCants and Calvin (Marquita) McCants; one brother, James (Sarah) Bradford; three sisters, Gola (Min. McKinley) Dailey, Betty Stewart and Dorita (Roger) Purifoy, all of Atmore; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by one daughter, Tracy Dortch Bradford; his parents, Aquilla, Sr. and Elva Bradford; three brothers, Walter, Robert and Charles Bradford.
