Donald Eugene Davis, 85, of Davisville, Fla., died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017.
Mr. Davis was born Jan. 16, 1932, to Ammon and Pearl Davis of Davisville. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and avid Blue Angels' fan, he delivered buses from High Point, N.C. to Mississippi, Mobile and Atmore. Many remember him as driver of the van for senior citizens in Davisville.
The funeral was held at 11:30 a.m., First Baptist Church in Bratt, Fla., with Culley's Funeral Home directing and Revs. Jesse Wood, Tim Hawsey and Delbert Redditt officiating. Burial followed at Serenity Gardens in Atmore with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Davis is survived by four nephews, Dwight (Arleen) Ziglar of Columbus, Ohio, Larry (Ann) Davis of Atmore, Terry Joe (Beth) Davis of Conroy, Texas and Jerry “Bubba” (Barbara) Davis of Huntsville; five nieces, Winifred (Martin) Hollingsworth of Davisville, Frances Cain of Pensacola, Tina Davis of Jacksonville, Fla., Sharon (Sue) Davis of Huntsville and Barbara Jo Davis of Texas; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dalton (Amelia) Davis; and three sisters, Lillian (Bill) Barclay, Ruby (James) Ziglar and Evelyn (Milton) Armstrong.
