Flomaton police are seeking the public's help in identifying the person who dumped nine puppies inside the Flomaton Cemetery on Feb. 14.
Police Chief Bryan Davis said School Resource Officer Matt Jernigan called the police department to report several small puppies, possibly a black-lab mix, around the school near the cemetery.
Davis and Code Enforcement Officer Heather Patterson went to the cemetery and found a gray tote-tub containing five puppies that appeared to be about one or two months old. Four other puppies were found running around.
Davis said it appeared someone drove into the cemetery and dumped out the tub full of puppies. He said the puppies were possibly dumped between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Feb. 14. Davis said the puppies were taken to the Brewton Animal Shelter for adoption.
Anyone with information on who dumped the puppies is asked to call the Flomaton Police Department at 296-5811.
