Paul Eugene Hicks, 73, of Brewton, died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, after a brief illness.
Mr. Hicks was a native of Tampa, former resident of Plant City, Fla. and a lifelong resident of Brewton. A U.S. Army Veteran who served in Vietnam, he was the former owner and operator of Paul Hicks Welding and Maintenance and a member of Elim Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Elim Baptist Church with Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Burial followed at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife, Kathy Smith Hicks of Brewton; one son, Bart Hicks of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four daughters, Deborah Tucker of Plant City, Lisa Hicks of Buffalo, N. Y., Michelle Hicks of Atlanta and LaRae Boyd of Brewton; one brother, Jack Hicks of Michigan; one sister, Ruth Hicks of Plant City; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
