Video game competition set

The Flomaton Lions Club is challenging all video gamers to put on their game faces and prove their skills this Saturday, March 10, at their first ever Ultimate Video Gaming Competition at the Flomaton Community Center at 600 McCurdy Street.

Registration is $20 per gamer and begins at 9 a.m. The tournament ends at 1 p.m. There can be up to three people on a team or players can choose to play individually.

The video competition will take place in a state-of-the-art mobile video game truck provided by On Sight Entertainment out of Mobile (see http://www.onsightentertainment.com/wp/).

With two giant screens on the exterior, the bus features seven widescreen high-definition TVs, surround sound and a one-of-a-kind multiplayer gaming system where up to 28 players can game at the same time on gamilg consoles from Xbox One X, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, PSVR Wii and Wii U in the 32-foot climate-controlled trailer.

The first round of gamer will compete in Street Fighter 5; those winners will compete in Call of Duty Black Ops 3; and those winners will compete in Mario Kart 8. The winner of all three rounds is the Ultimate gamer and wins a cash prize.

“This will be a fun event to raise money for our scholarship fund,” said Lions President Ruth Harrell. “We want to reach the younger audience and introduce them to what the Lions do-we serve. It's a wonderful way to partner community service and young people for a good cause. We all work toward meeting that need in the community, which is the goal of Lions.”

The Flomaton Lions Club meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Flomaton Community Center.
