The Century Methodist Church rebuild is well on its way, as workers drive wooden forms into the earth so concrete will provide a firm foundation for the new church.
Driving wooden stakes into the ground to hold the forms in place, D and B Builders employee Richard Nickles swings a sledge hammer with great force.
“We are setting the form right now,” said Nickles on Friday, March 9.
Nickles said that the plumbers are scheduled to start laying the pipes this week, followed by the installation of wire and steel mesh for the forming and pouring of concrete.
“This is all part of the prep work for the church's foundation to be poured,” said Nickles. “It's really the most important part of the job. You've got to have a good foundation for any structure.”
