Shirley Louene Simmons Jerkins

Shirley Louene Simmons Jerkins, 59, of Brewton, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Jerkins was born in Brewton, where she spent her lifetime. A member of the 1977 W.S. Neal High School Class, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for seventeen years. She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, at East Brewton First Baptist Church with Bros. Lee Cadenhead and Kyle Cinereski officiating. Burial followed at Ridge Road Cemetery in Brewton with Craver's Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Jerkins is survived by her husband of 36 years, Earnest L. “Ernie” Jerkins, Jr. of Brewton; three sons, Earnest O'Neil (Jennifer) Jerkins of Brewton, James Bradley (Ashton) Jerkins of Pike Road, Ala. and Joshua Shane (Whitney) Jerkins of Fort Rucker, Ala.; her mother, Marvis Simmons of East Brewton; two brothers, Ludon (Martha) Simmons of East Brewton and Lemond (Cyndi) Simmons of Brewton; and eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Jerkins was preceded in death by her father, James Simmons; and one sister, Shaun Crutchfield.
