Ida Lee English Frye, 71, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018.
Mrs. Frye was a native of Barth, Fla. who grew up in Walnut Hill, Fla. and attended school in Cantonment. A 1964 graduate of Ransom High School, she attended Troy State University, where she earned a degree in Business Administration. A member of Gaines Chapel AME Church, where she served as a Trustee, she worked as a beautician in Atmore as owner and operator of Fancy Fingers Salon and Boutique.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 19, at Gaines Chapel AME Church with Rev. Amos Smith officiating. Burial followed at Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
Mrs. Frye is survived by two sons, Shacy (Lynn Hume) Frye of Atlanta and Shelton Frye of Atmore; six brothers, Ned English, Forest (Diane) English, Otis (Natalie) English, Benell (Jeanette) English, all of Pensacola, Thomas (Helen) English of Charleston and Burnel (Diane) English of South Hampton, Mass.; three sisters, Alice (Russell) Bates of Stone Mountain, Ga., Judith (Alex) Johnson of Houston and Linda (Terry) Means of Pensacola; four grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by her sons' father, Benny Frye, Sr.; one son, Benny Frye, Jr.; her parents, Forest and Clara English; one brother, Timothy English; and other family members.
