Jimmy Ray Travis, 68, of Summerdale, Ala., died Monday, March 19, 2018 after a brief illness.
Mr. Travis was a native of Brewton and former resident of Mobile and Arkansas prior to moving to Summerdale. A member of the Wesleyan Church in Magnolia Springs, Ala., he was a U.S. Marine Vietnam veteran who retired retired as a hydroblaster in the construction industry.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 23, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. David Bane officiating. Burial followed with military honors at Beulah Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Travis is survived by his wife, Juanita Lee Travis of Summerdale; five sons, Jeff Travis of Stockton, Calif., Ronnie Bradley of Mississippi, Scott Travis of Texas, Sean Travis of Mobile and Andrew Travis of Atmore; four daughters, Jeanette Hilliard of Foley, Ala., Rhonda Kummerfeld of Mobile, Stacey Adams of Buckatanna, Miss. and Tina Travis of Foley, Ala.; one sister, Nora Ann Seegren of Crestview, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other extended family members.
Mr. Travis was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Bradley; his parents, Walter Travis and Nora Burch; and three brothers, Walter Wayne Travis, Ronnie Travis and David Travis.
