Opal Jean Turner Murphy, 88, of Brewton, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 after a brief illness.
Mrs. Murphy was a native of Glendale, Fla. and former resident of Andalusia, Ala. before moving to Brewton. A homemaker, she was of the Baptist faith.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 19, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kenneth Murphy officiating. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mrs. Murphy is survived by her husband, Charles Melvin Murphy of Brewton; three sons, Larry (Carolyn) Murphy, Stephen (Theresa) Murphy and Jeffery Murphy, all of Brewton; three daughters, Connie (Michael) Psalmonds of Lutz, Fla., Twila Murphy of Monroeville and Marcie Murphy of Atmore; three sisters, Faye Ealum of Glendale, Betty Collura of Dade City, Fla. and Sue Coleman of Red Level, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandcchild.
