A Bessemer, Ala., man was arrested in Flomaton Tuesday afternoon several hours after police responded to a welfare check at 125 Sue St.
James Lonnie Purvis, 56, 1616 5th Ave., Bessemer, was arrested on a fugitive warrant filed by the Alabama Department of Corrections for a parole violation.
Police were originally dispatched to the Sue Street residence at 6:54 a.m. for a welfare check. According to the female inside the home, Purvis 'began to see things' and accidentally fell on her and his knife cut her leg. No criminal charges were filed.
