Alberta Lawson Johnson, 60, died Monday, March 26, 2018 at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile.
Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 30, 1957 to Albert and Elma Lawson in Atmore, Ala. A resident of McCullough, Ala., she was a member of First Baptist Church of McCullough, where she served as Youth Director and Pastor Aid Assistant as well as other roles.
The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 31, at First Baptist Church of McCullough with Rev. Charles Jones offficiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Wade Johnson, Jr.; four children, Derrick (Alielobret) Lawson, Sr. of El Paso, Texas and Kristy (Jeremy) Clark, Wade Johnson, III and Lucretia Johnson, all of McCullough; three brothers, Willie (Luverne) Lawson of McCullough, Foster (Linda) Brown of Georgia and David (Mary) Lawson of Hollywood, Fla.; nine sisters, Fannie Lawson of Jamaica, N.Y., Annie Brown of Pensacola Emma Lee of Newark, N.J., Judy (Ben) Mallard and Gertrude (Marvin) Brown, Sr., both of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Jemethia Ballard of Atmore, Octavia Lawson Walters of Hollywood, Patricia (Charles) Johnson of McCullough and Tarji (Thomas) Adams, Sr. of Fayetteville, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and other family members.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Vinnie Brown, Elizabeth Brown and Lillie Mae Lee.
