Betty Dora Sundy Humphreys, 81, of Pensacola, died Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Pensacola Sacred Heart Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
Mrs. Humphreys was born October 9, 1936 to Shorty and Rudy Sundy in Flomaton, Ala. Raised in the Fannie area, she attended schools in Century, among classmates Buddy Sundy (a cousin), Frances Jean Ard, the Campbells, Johnsons, Simmons and McCurdys. She lived in Pensacola most of her life, but spent the last seven months in the Mobile and Fairhope areas.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 20, at The Shrine of the Holy Cross in Daphne, Ala. with Fr. Lito Capeding celebrant officiating and Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Baldwin, Fla. directing.
Mrs. Humphreys is survived by her three sons, Carl Humphreys of Navarre, Fla., Kenneth Humphreys (Cheryl) of Pensacola and Charles Chang-Humphreys (Kanani) of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Anna Kay Treutel (David) of Daphne, Ala.: one brother, Lamar (Heidi) Sundy, Jr.: four sisters, Ollie Grunenwald, Rosie Lee Wilkinson, Eileen Lois (Gordon) Wilkerson, Helen (Bert) Black; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mrs. Humphreys was preceded in death by her husband, Frank John Humphreys; her parents; one brother, Wilton Lee Sundy; and one sister, Martha Reid.
