Man jailed for disorderly conduct

Pensacola man accuses customers of being police who were following him, clerk calls 911

A Pensacola man who accused customers at the Texaco Station in Flomaton of being police officers and being tired of them following him around was arrested outside the convenience store on disorderly conduct charges.

Witnesses said Nathaniel M. Pollitte, 30, pulled into the parking lot of the store on Sidney Manning Boulevard, exited his vehicle with a small camera in his hand to record tag numbers of customers he said had been following him. A clerk in the store dialed 911 about 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Flomaton police arrived.

Several witnesses said they were scared of the man, claiming he was ranting and raving about them being police when they had never seen him.

Flomaton Police Officer Wallace Carter placed Pollitte in handcuffs for detention and he told the officer the same story he told the customers that he was being followed by the police.

A search of his vehicle revealed nothing illegal, but included an air rifle that resembled an AR-15, a bullet-proof vest and multiple ammunition magazines.

Pollitte was jailed on disorderly conduct charges and transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
