The Escambia County (Ala.) Board of Education held a reception Tuesday afternoon, May 15, at the Flomaton High School library for the employees who have or are retiring the 2017-2018 school year.
School Superintendent John Knott joined school board members Coleman Wallace, Danny Benjamin, Cindy Jackson, Mike Edwards and Willie Grissett as Knott and area school principals presented plaques to the retirees for their years of dedication to the students of Escambia County.
Those who were there to accept a plaque and giftbag include: Mattie Boggan, Valissa Burnham, Marina Chancery, Randy Denton, Diane Ewing, Kathy McCutchin and Linda Mills.
Retirees who were honored, but not present include: Cal Abner, Paula Butts, Margie Harper, Kimberly Jackson, Joanne Mack, Sherry McCall, Donna Revel Robert Rittenhouse, Mona W. Simmons, Anita Stuckey and Allen Whitman.
Light refreshments and cake were served at the reception following the recognition service.
