Vera Mae Manning Shell

Vera Mae Manning Shell, 85, of Brewton died Tuesday, May 1, 2018 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Shell was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, Ala. A member of Appleton Church of Christ and member of the W.S. Neal Class of 1951, she was a retired banker from the Bank of Brewton with more than 30 years of service and enjoyed several hobbies.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 4, at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Jones and Bro. Bill Blair officiating. Burial followed at Weaver Cemetery with Williams Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Shell is survived by one son, Merrill (Karen) Shell of Brewton; one daughter, Kay (Joe) Findley of Mobile; one brother, Albert Manning, Jr. of Pensacola; two sisters, Hazel Lang of Gig Harbor, Wash. and Estelle (Ross) Langham of Saraland, Ala.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Shell was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Shell; one brother, James Manning; and one sister, Agnes Pugh.
