Shot in Florida, two men dumped in Atmore
An Atmore man, his son and the niece of the deceased victim of a fatal shooting all face homicide charges after law enforcement responded to the report of a dead male on Deer Creek Road last Sunday and discovered another male with a shotgun wound to the head had been transported to the hospital.
Christopher Allen Stacey, 37, 145 Madison Dr.,Christopher James Logan Stacey, 18, and Alexis Shiffner Cain, 21, were arrested and charged with one count homicide and one count attempted homicide after two men, later identitifed as Dalton Davis and Troy Boutwell, were found shot in Atmore, according to an Escambia County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office report.
Davis was found inside a truck at Brushy Creek and the other victim, Boutwell, had suffered a gunshot wound to the head but managed to crawl away and flag down a passing car, the report said.
Investigators determined the shootings had taken place at a residence located in the 5900-block of Highway 164 in Walnut Hill.
The report said when deputies responded to the residence, they observed a fire in the back yard. At the same time, gunshot victim Boutwell revealed that he had been inside the residence sitting on the couch when he was shot, the report said. Deputies then extinguished the fire to preserve evidence and made contact with multiple individuals there, including the suspects.
Boutwell told authorities he was shot because of an argument. Deputies conducted a protective sweep through the residence for any other victims or suspects when they observed, in plain view, an AR-15 rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun in separate bedrooms. They also located a mattress on the side of the house and what appeared to be a bullet hole in an interior wall of the residence, according to the report.
The three suspects as well as a fourth unnamed individual were transported to Escambia County Sheriff's Office for an interview.
Later, the three suspects were arrested and jailed without bond.
