Investigators with the Butler County Sheriff ’s Office continue to piece together the events that led to a double homicide last weekend in the southern part of the county that left two Evergreen men dead.
According to Sheriff Kenny Harden, a call from a passerby regarding the discovery of the two bodies off a dirt
road in a wooded area, came in around 3:50 p.m. Saturday. Those bodies were
later identified as Cortez Dees and Luman Williams, both of Evergreen.
According to Harden, in an interview on Q-94 Tuesday morning, a call also came in “approximately at the same
time we were investigating” the scene where the bodies were found regarding a burning car on Tram Road near
Georgiana.
The car, a gray, 2018 Audi, apparently belonged to one of the victims, Harden said, adding he believed the bodies were discovered “minutes” after being placed in the wooded area.
Despite some rain, the BCSO worked throughout the night to process the scene and collect evidence.
The sheriff ’s office is currently seeking any information regarding suspicious activity or vehicles in Garland or Georgiana, particularly if they were seen with a gray Audi.
Anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to contact the sheriff ’s office at (334) 382-6521 or
Harden’s cell phone, (334) 525-0361.
