Dr. John Bagwell has retired, but Dr. Hal Noble has picked up the noble task of holding a rabies clinic in certain parts of Escambia County this Saturday, June 9.
Shots are $12 and he comes to you.
A complete list of where Dr. Noble and his staff will be is printed on Page 2A of today's edition. It was in last week's edition as well because we realize this is a very important service to the people of Escambia County.
It is a law that all dogs and cats more than 3 months old are required to have a rabies vaccination. It shouldn't take a law to make people do what's right.
We have laws that require us to wear seatbelts and the majority of the traffic fatalities we cover involve motorists who aren't wearing seatbelts. It shouldn't take a law to protect yourself, your children or your friends, but sometimes it does.
Rabies vaccines not only protect your pets, they protect you, your family, your friends and neighbors. As far as we've been told, there is no cure once a human gets rabies and it's mostly fatal.
An unvaccinated dog gets bitten by a rabid raccoon and the dog then bites the child down the road, chances are the child will die.
Do yourself, your pet and your neighbors a favor by getting your pet vaccinated. It won't be any cheaper than the $12 you'll pay this Saturday when you simply pull up with your pet in your vehicle and Dr. Noble administers the shot.
