John Nealy Roberts, Jr., 66, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018.
Mr. Roberts was born Sept. 8, 1951, to John Nealy, Sr. and Elnetta Roberts in Atmore, Ala. A 1969 graduate of Escambia County High School, he had attended Escambia County Training School and worked for Exxon for 30 years until he retired in 2007. He was a member of Power Pentecostal Holiness Church. Married in 1996, he and his wife began their Christian ministry and created Paradise Holiness Church, where he served as Deacon.
The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, June 10, at Empowerment Tabernacle Church with Min. Lucille King officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife, Sylvia Roberts; nine children, Fahamisha (Eric) Robinson, Johnathan (Jasmine) Roberts, Shaquanda Crump, Shamika Barnes, Demetrion Barnes, Trenton Barnes, Natashia (Cedric) Poindexter and Velar Kidd, Ychelle Walker; his mother; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Krzeminski “Chris” Roberts.
