Samuel Moorer

Samuel Moorer, 94, died Saturday, June 9, 2018.

Mr. Moorer was born November 29, 1923, to Aldon and Maggie Moorer in Selma, Ala. Spending most of his life in McKinnonville, Fla., he retired after working for the town of Century.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 16, at The House of Prayer in Walnut Hill with Pastor Danny E. Fountain officiating. Burial followed at New Saint Paul Baptist Church Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Moorer is survived by 13 children, Samuel Moorer, Jr., David (Dorothy) Moorer, Mack Ernest (Ilene) Moorer, Annie Joyce (David) Malettey, Barbara Jean Easley, Alice Smith, Irma (Raymond) Redmond, Don (Vernell) Moorer, Daniel (Yvonne) Moorer, Irvine (Cynthia) Moorer, Sharon (Steve) Powell, Latasha (Jeffery) Fountain, and Serena Franklin; 33 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.

Mr. Moorer was preceded in death by his wife, Armetta Moore; an infant son, Willie C. Moorer; one daughter, Claretha Russell; his parents; and six siblings, Classie (Andrew) Fountain, John (Ruthie) Moorer, Willie (Eulene) Moorer, Walter Moorer, Willie Clyde Moorer and Arvie Moorer.
