After initially subsiding early in the Trump administration, illegal immigration has been steadily surging again the past few months. Obviously, controlling illegal immigration is an important primary goal for Trump, but large numbers again overwhelm resources just like they did during the Obama administration. Not just the sheer numbers, it’s also the large increase in children and most of these are unaccompanied minors. Minors complicate the process.
Since Obama, procedures and policies for handling huge influxes at the border have not really changed, but that didn’t stop Democrats from howling foul. With Stormy losing steam and the last Russian nesting doll turning out empty, Democrats needed a new distraction, a new vehicle to malign Trump. With the economy humming and steady progress on the world stage, Democrats sorely needed a new scandal, so they resorted to the old tried and true tactic of screaming it’s all about the children. Not your children of course, but illegal alien children.
You’ve heard it before: Republicans want to starve the children, deny them education, and take away their health care to die in the streets – yadda, yadda, yadda. None of it ever true, but deprived children emotionalizes any issue such that facts and reason are tossed out of the media nursery. But the biggest hypocrisy is all the liberals whining about ripping illegal immigrant children from their parent’s arms remain eager to rip unborn babies from the womb.
In amusing irony, leftists trying to foment outrage about mistreating children got caught tweeting Obama era pictures of children in detention centers. Obama separated them and caged them, but that never bothered Democrats. Both administrations contended with children being exploited and abused by smugglers and other illegal immigrants. It was and still is common for illegal immigrants to gather unaccompanied children along the way and lie about them being a family. Certainly some are families, but they all just broke the law illegally entering our country. Law breakers are routinely separated from their children until authorities can verify identities and make proper arrangements for those that are indeed families. It’s not sinister, it’s simply sad reality when dealing with illegal activity.
Never mind the harsh facts and similar practices from Obama to Trump, liberals want you to believe when Trump does it, it’s so much worse. They even tried to compare Trump’s illegal immigrant detention centers to holocaust concentration camps! The moral incongruence is astounding. Illegal immigrants are brought out of the desert to be fed, housed, and even given health care while awaiting processing, but to liberals that’s the same as starving and gassing citizens. Absurd beyond words, their intellectual dishonesty belies their true intent: it’s not about the children; it’s about smearing Trump.
Press, pundits, and politicians were crying and throwing tantrums across the media. How could Trump be so heartless?! Although he signed an Executive Order to help keep families together because Democrats blocked corrective legislation in Congress. Democrats don’t want illegal immigration solved. They need it like every other problem as perennial campaign issues to convince voters their compassionate leadership is needed in a cruel world. And Democrats also need illegal immigrants to vote because they are losing American working class voters. Many leftists derided even enforcing a border exposing their true goal of open borders. It makes globalization and voter fraud easier.
While illegal immigration is a national problem, it’s very dangerous and potentially deadly for illegal immigrants. They are preyed upon by smugglers, drug cartels, and other illegal immigrants. Trump is trying to dissuade them from the perilous journey, but Democrats are content to have them suffer for their political purposes. Many teenage girls are given the “Morning After Abortion” pill for the trip because many of them are raped along the way. Did Rachel Maddow shed a tear for them?
Frustrated with just hypocritical tantrums, leftists are now pursuing intimidation. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was hounded from a DC restaurant and pestered by protesters at her home. The fake outrage over separating children from their illegal immigrant parents is a fraud, but leftists are inching closer to violence to impose their demands.
Trump inherited this mess from Obama’s lawlessness. Obama refused to enforce immigration laws and encouraged illegals to come. Trump is trying to fix it, but do not underestimate the extraordinary lengths leftists will pursue to get Trump.
