Illinois man dies; Brewton teen and Wing man injured in crash
A Brookfield, Ill. man lost his life and five others were injured last Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 113 in Flomaton.
John A. Janis, 54, was killed when the 2007 Buick Lucerne he was driving collided with a 2003 GMC Sierra around 7:45 p.m. on July 18. Janis was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the GMC, 18-year-old Hunter A. Majors of Brewton, and passenger, John Majors, 54, of Wing, were injured and transported to D.W. McMillian Hospital.
Three juvenile passengers from both vehicles were also injured and transported to D.W. McMillian with non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash occurred at the 15.4 mile marker on Highway 113, 13 miles west of Flomaton. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
