Like the boy who repeatedly cried wolf, Democrats and the overwhelmingly liberal media have been incessantly screaming the Russians are hacking for over a year. Well, DUH! The Russians have always been trying to penetrate American systems, they still are, and they always will. Just like the Chinese, the Iranians, the North Koreans, radical Islamist groups, Nigerians, etcetera. And oh by the way, does anyone doubt America is hacking these inimical nations? Ask the Iranians about the Stuxnet virus that crashed their nuclear centrifuges.
For that matter, allies spy on each other. They want to be sure allies remain faithful or they want to exploit some negotiations, so good intelligence on friends can give an advantage. Remember when Obama’s NSA got caught monitoring German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s phone in 2013? There was no outcry about Obama mistreating Merkel; it was just business.
So Russian espionage is no surprising revelation, but liberals are so desperate to delegitimize Trump’s election they actually expect the Russians to admit interference. Trump asked Russian leader Vladimir Putin about election meddling and he denied it. Seriously, did anyone honestly expect Putin to jump up and say “Well Bolshevik, you caught me?” Sure, our enemies meddle anywhere they can, but it’s only a concern if they succeed.
Did they? Not according to Mueller’s Special Counsel. A couple days before the Helsinki Summit, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein held an oddly timed press conference to announce indictments of 12 Russian military intelligence officers for hacking the Democrat National Committee. Never mind, they also tried to hack the Republican National Committee and failed. Democrats never really listening jumped for joy thinking Rosenstein just fired the smoking gun. They considered this proof of Russian interference in the 2016 election; now they had Trump in the crosshairs.
Not so fast my loony liberal friends; you should have listened to Rosenstein’s entire announcement. He emphasized that NO Americans were implicated and there was NO evidence any votes were changed or swayed! So Russians did what Russians do, but they failed to affect the election. Oops! But that didn’t deter liberals from continuing their absurd mantra Trump colluded with Russia to win the election. Perhaps they did realize their losing hand because they were apoplectic shouting Trump committed treason for supposedly believing Putin over US intelligence agencies. He told Putin it was unacceptable, but that was all anyone could do. But why should anyone believe US intelligence agencies and the FBI who have engaged in gross prosecutorial misconduct using Democrat purchased propaganda to spy on a presidential candidate?
Why are Democrats so certain Trump colluded? Like liars are certain everyone else lies too, they tried it. In 1983, Senator Ted Kennedy sent emissaries to the Soviet Union to offer Soviet leader Yuri Andropov help in dealing with President Reagan if they helped the Democrat Party oust Reagan in 1984. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton approved the sale of 20% of American uranium to the Russians while receiving millions into the Clinton Foundation from the Kremlin. Or how about when Obama whispered to Russian President Medvedev to “Tell Putin, I will have more flexibility after the 2012 election.”
Trump has been tougher on Russia than any president since Reagan, but our overwrought press breathlessly repeated how Trump sold out America. The Russian collusion was still not materializing, so the new charge was treason. Liberals were posting all over social media that we better start learning Russian; they quite frankly went insane chanting the Russian sky is falling. Without any discernible rational, they compared the Helsinki Summit to Pearl Harbor or 9/11.
It was no such thing, but their spastic posts and rants revealed their true anxiety. Trump’s election was the liberals Pearl Harbor. He bombed their progressive power grab. The government was reset to putting America first again, the Supreme Court was flipped, and Americans are prospering again. So the progressive movement is being set back a generation. That is the reason for their abnormal angst; they are losing badly. They will stop at nothing because they view removing Trump as a life and death struggle. And they are probably right.
