Gwendolyn “Gwen” Naomi Jernigan Sims, 74, of Brewton, died Monday, August 27, 2018.
Mrs. Sims was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton who attended North Brewton School and W.S. Neal High School. A homemaker, she was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, August 30, at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Revs. Jim Blair and Bryan Garrett officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband of more than 59 years, Gene Sims of Brewton; two sons, Darryl (Ellen) Sims of McDavid and Josh (Nicole) Sims of Navarre, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her parents, D.J. and Isabell Salter Sims; and one brother, Charles Richard Jernigan.
