Curtis Robertson Glaize, 24, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018.
Mr. Glaize was born Oct. 27, 1993 to Ed and Alecia Glaize in Montgomery, where he lived until he was four years old. His family moved to Tallassee, Ala. where he attended kindergarten through fifth grade. Then the family moved to Brewton and he attended sixth grade through graduation from T.R. Miller High School in 2012, where he played football, baseball, participated in the T.R. Miller choir, Scholars Bowl team and senior play. He went on to attended Jeff Davis Community College and graduated from Auburn University in 2017 with a bachelor of science in English Language Arts Education. At Auburn, he worked with the Auburn football team as a videographer and before graduating, completed a teaching and football coaching internship at Auburn High School. He was employed as a teacher and football coach at Benjamin Russell High School in Alex City, Ala. and had recently became engaged to Miss Loren Padgett of Cragford, Ala. A member of First United Methodist Church in Brewton, he was an acolyte and active in the youth group, participating in mission trips to Louisiana, New York and Costa Rica. A recipient of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Challenger Award at T.R. Miller High School, he went to the Holy Land in 2015.
The funeral was held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at Brewton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Jackson officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
Mr. Glaize is survived by his fiancee; his parents; one sister, Anna Grace Graize; and one grandparent, Nancy R. Glaize.
Mr. Glaize was preceded in death by three grandparents, Gerald and Alice Curtis and Rev. Charles H. Glaize, Sr.
