Ernestine Welker, 79, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Welker was born the second of eleven children August 26, 1939 to Anderson S. Mobley and Rosie Lee Welker. She was a member of St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church in Perdido, Ala.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, at St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church with Rev. Kenta Grissett officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Welker is survived by two daughters, Anyiah and Lejour of Perdido; three brothers, Leroy (Elizabeth) Welker of Atmore, Howard of Perdido and Michael of Niagara Falls; N.Y.; four sisters, Mollie and Velma of Perdido, Dorothy of Syracuse, N.Y. and Theresa of Long Beach, N.Y.; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members.
Mrs. Welker was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Joe, McArthur and Larry.
