Temekia Shantell Redmond Packer, 35, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018.

Mrs. Packer was born Nov. 17, 1982, to Eric House and Janice Higgins. Developing musical talent on keyboard and drums at an early age, she was a graduate of the Escambia County High School Class of 2000 and a member of the band. She attended both Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette and Columbia Technical College in Atlanta, becoming employed with both the Bethel A.M.E. Church and Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church of Atlanta.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 4, at Holy Community Center with Pastor Irma J. Wilson, Rev. Michael Wilson and Maurice Square officiating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Packer is survived by her husband, Melvin Packer; her father, Eric (Dorothy) House of Gadsden, Ala.; siblings, Courtney Peters of Atlanta, Shamar House, Michael (Alicia) House, Doneshay Densmore and Brittany Johnson, all of Gadsden; and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and many more family members and friends.

Mrs. Packer was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Higgins; one brother, LaBaius Jones; numerous grandparents; and numerous other relatives and family members and friends.
