Dennis Neal Roberson, 71, of Brewton, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 after an extended illness.
Mr. Roberson was born in Rayville, La. and had been a resident of DeLand, Fla. Prior to moving to Brewton 24 years ago. Earning a bachelor's degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, he was a member of the management team at Walmart in Brewton for a number of years. After retiring, he served as a lead volunteer with the American Red Cross in Escambia County, Ala. and ran a food bank in Brewton. He was also a member of New Prosperity Baptist Church in Ruston, La.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. Johns Baptist Church in Rayville with Rev. Maurice Simmons officiating. Burial followed at Prosperity Cemetery in Ruston with Tennant Funeral Home of Rayville directing.
Mr. Roberson is survived by his wife, Mattie Bennett Roberson of Brewton; two sons, Detrick Roberson of Brewton and Toussiant Roberson of DeLand; one daughter, Tonya Roberson of Monroe, La.; one brother, Lloyd “Pete” Roberson of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Jewel Tillman of Chicago and Betty Roberson of Rayville; and two grandchildren.
