Fannie Lee Brown, 86, of the Nokomis community of Atmore, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, in Atmore.
Mrs. Brown was a native of Clarke County, Ala., who had been a resident of Escambia County, Ala. for most of her life. A homemaker, she had attended school in Clarke County and was a member of Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, where she had worked on the Missionary Society.
The funeral was held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13, at Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center with Rev. Austin Kidd and Bishop Darryl North officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Shiloh Church Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel directing.
Mrs. Brown is survived by six sons, Willie Brown and Caleb (Linda) Brown, both of Moss Point, Miss., Roosevelt (Betty) Brown of White Hall, Ark., Homer (Doritha) Brown, III of Montgomery. Dewonzo Brown of Clark, Philippines and Andre Brown of Lakewood, N.J.; five daughters, Martha (Alfred) Ingram, Elizabeth Hazley and Shirley Brown, all of Atmore, Demetris (Robert) Fountain of Pensacola and Chennelle Beacham of Montgomery; three sisters, Channie Roberts, Mary Curry and Agnes Wilson, all of Atmore; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and other family members and friends.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Brown, Jr.; her parents, Roosevelt and Martha Bradford Burrell; and four brothers, Joseph Burrell, David Burrell, Peter Burrell and Andrew Burrell.
