Drug court client arrested for drugs

Morrison tells deputy he had meth in car

A participant in Escambia County (Ala.) Drug Court is back behind bars on drug charges after a sheriff's deputy found methamphetamine in his possession with the suspect then telling the deputy he just wanted to make a little money.

Waymon Paul Morrison, 29, 320 Elm Drive, Frisco City, was arrested Oct. 29 and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He received a $5,000 bond on the charge but remains in the Escambia County Detention Center on a hold from drug court.

According to reports filed with sheriff's office, Deputy Sam Weeks was dispatched about 10:50 p.m. Monday to 502 Blackwell Lane in Atmore in reference to a trespassing complaint.

When Weeks arrived a Poarch police officer was already on the scene and was talking to Morrison outside the residence.

Morrison then told Deputy Weeks there might be an 'Eight Ball' of meth in his vehicle. Morrison gave consent to search and told the deputy the meth was in a pink shirt on the back seat. Weeks checked the shirt and found a clear plastic bag containing a clear crystalized substance which later tested positive for meth.

The owners of the residence told Poarch officers and deputies they just wanted him off their property. He was then transported to the detention center in Brewton.
