The public is invited to the new Century CRA's Community Garden on the first annual work day, starting at 9 a.m., this Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Century campus of Pensacola State College.
Anyone interested should bring gardening tools and come ready to work, according to Century Town Planner Debbie Nickles.
“The event this Saturday morning will allow local residents to plant together, grow together, harvest together and live healthy and happy together,” said Nickles. “We're asking people to bring shovels, rakes, and any small garden tools to help get the garden started. This will be a fun project that will help bring people together and promote the Century CRA.”
Sponsors who have donated or pledged a donation are Campbell’s for top soil, Food Giant for cardboard boxes, Jay Cotton Gin for cotton mulch, Bondurant for lumber and Pensacola Gardeners for seeds.
