Bay Minette man is charged with shootings at Atmore night club early Sunday morning

A Bay Minette man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling or vehicle following a shooting early Sunday morning at The Assembly Hall, formerly the Chick-A-Dee Club in Atmore.

Anji Lynn Baker, 34, was arrested in Pensacola following the shooting that left three people injured. According to reports released by Atmore Police Chief Chuck Brooks, Baker is awaiting extradition to Alabama to face the attempted murder and shooting charges.

According to Brooks, Atmore police officers were dispatched to the club at 54 Carver Ave., at 12:25 a.m. on Nov. 11 in reference to a shooting.

Brooks said as patrol units arrived on the scene they observed fighting outside and inside the club. Officers spoke with witnesses and learned there was one person inside the club suffering from a gunshot wound and two others who had been shot had been transported by private vehicle to Atmore Community Hospital.

He said officers rendered aid to the gun shot victim inside the club while awaiting medical treatment by EMS. The victim was later transported to Atmore Community Hospital.

Brooks said two of the three victims were taken by helicopter to USA Medical Center in Mobile. Updates on their condition were not available as of press time.
